Thirteen year old, Mallory Pickens, is one of the many people who are against abortion. Chanting, yelling, and fighting for abortion to be illegal, she was oblivious to the fact that a new bundle of life was forming inside of her. The night before the march, which took place on January 25th of 2013, she had joined the group in staying at Holiday Express for the night. The group of protesters had rented a few rooms next to each other for the night at the hotel. That night, Pickens had sexual intercourse with a thirteen year old boy. She marched the next day without knowing that she had been impregnated. Those that are close to Pickens presume that she will no longer attend school, be isolated from both friends and family, and suffer from depression.

The situation with Mallory Pickens was quite ironic. She was marching against a topic she herself might need to face one day. She was fighting against abortion, unaware of her own pregnancy. It was also ironic how a church member like herself, became pregnant from another church member. One can not know how it feels to make a decision of abortion or not, unless he or she needs to make the decision for his or herself. She kept marching and fighting against abortion, but now that the situation is in her personal life, will she continue fighting against it?
ReplyDeleteWhy is a thirteen year old spending a night with a guy? Everything has changed so much nowadays and it is just disgusting. This church member who is going against abortion is putting herself into a situation that may cause her family to force her to make a decision to either get an abortion or keep the child. She should not have even spent the night with another guy at that age to even get pregnant. She is not even full developed enough to support another human in her body. It is because of irresponsible teens like her who increase the amount of abortions done.
